The Division: Ubisoft Addresses Cheating, Outlines Penalties

I'm sure you've all heard about it, seen the YouTube videos or been the victim of groups of stupidly over powered rogues in the DZ. Now Ubisoft Massive has responded to the cheating issues in The Division, and the steps they are taking to combat it.

A new detection system has been implemented to catch out players using cheat engines in the game. We are seeing this already starting to take effect. Over the next few days Ubisoft will be handing out the largest allotment of suspensions and bans to date.

Players caught cheating can expect a 14 day suspension if it is their first offence. Second time round though and a permanent ban is coming your way.

Ubisoft has also begun clamping down on players using bug exploits. Known exploits will be kept in public forum threads with new ones added once they are confirmed. If you are caught repeatedly using an exploit there is possibility of character rollbacks, account suspensions and permanent bans.

Ubisoft has assured everyone that if you accidentally encounter bugs during normal play, you will have nothing to worry about.
