Forza Horizon 3 - A Real Australian Sky

Ralph Fulton, creative director for Playground Games has revealed the lengths the team has gone to while creating that visually stunning sky for Forza Horizon 3.

"We literally captured the sky with a 4K camera rig," he said. "That created over 1tb per day of data for an entire summer, to create an authentic Australian sky. In-game, the whole sky is an HDR light source."
While it won't be the raw 4K data that we will be treated with in game, it's certainly impressive to think about how much time and effort has gone into this picturesque show of natural theatre including clouds, double rainbows and realistic weather. Spending an entire season setting up 3 4K panoramic camera rigs in the Australian Outback and changing lenses every 30 mins all while dealing with our best known creepy crawlies is to be applauded.
"Everything out there wants to kill you," Ralph added. "There were spiders hiding in the overhangs and crevices [of the rig]."
I'll certainly be sitting back and appreciating all that effort a little more having heard this!

But one more piece of joy is set to land with the game in a few weeks - a driveable "Chupa-thingy"! Halo's Warthog (minus the turret sadly) is joining the lineup of awesome vehicles in game. All you need to do to claim it is play Halo 5 or Halo: The Masterchief Collection.

Forza Horizon 3 is set for release on September 27th 2016.
