The Division DLC Delayed

Ubisoft have today confirmed that their upcoming expansions for The Division have been delayed.

The second add-on, Survival, has been moved to a "later date this year," while the third expansion, Last Stand, will now not been seen till early 2017.

Ubisoft announced these changes in a blog post.
"This new schedule will not only allow us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well."

"It's been an incredible six months since the record breaking release of The Division
in March. However, it has become clear that the overall Division experience has been affected by lingering issues that have accumulated since release."

Instead of releasing new content Ubisoft is adjusting it's priorities. Using their own observations and fan feedback the studio is focusing on improving the core gameplay experience.

For us agents that means the studio is now working on update 1.4, which will make a lot of fixes and improvements. Ubisoft have outlined the below points as the main focus for update 1.4:
  • Bug fixes, including those from their known issues list and many others.
  • Making loot drops more relevant to the player.
  • Enemy difficulty and time to kill.
  • Gear sets and weapon balancing.
  • Solo player experience.
  • Dark Zone and PVP balancing.
  • Quality of life additions based on community suggestions (such as weapon skins no longer taking up space in inventory.
Ubisoft has said that update 1.4 addresses the games most pressing issues. Overall, the developer explained that improving the game in an ongoing effort that starts with 1.4 and will likely continue with further updates in the future.

A full overview of the changes included with The Division's update 1.4 will be released in a livestream event scheduled for September 13.
