Final Fantasy XV Early Thoughts
It has been a long time coming but it is finally here! Final Fantasy XV hit the shelves today and I have already been lucky enough to put a fair bit of time into it.
I am only going to give you a taste of what I have experienced so far with a full review to come once I have finished the main story.
First things first. If you are a fan, watch the movie "Kingsglave", if you are not a long time fan, watch the movie "Kingsglave" it plays out in the background to the first part of the game and will help you make a whole lot more sense of what is going on and why.
Me personally, I have not been a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series, games wise, movies on the other hand I love and have all of them in my collection.
Never before have I been so excited to play out a story line than I have been for the lead up to Final Fantasy XV.
But I know what you are thinking, this is number 15 in the series, it's a daunting number and you don't want to go back and play 14 titles before you get to this one. Below is the second screen you see when booting up.

You see Final Fantasy is more of the world not some much one linear story. Each one is different and you don't need to know anything of the previous to still enjoy the game.
In Final Fantasy XV you play as Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum, who is destined to travel to Altissia, capital of Accordo to marry his betrothed Lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae, and that is as much of the story as I am going to give you.
FFXV plays like an open world RPG, you have your 3 man crew in tow to help you out on your journey, Ignis Scientia, Gladiolus Amicitia & Prompto Argentum. Each brings with them their own skill to guide you through each encounter.
You have a fairly comprehensive skill tree to level up you and your followers abilities, different fighting styles and you can make it as in depth or as simple as you like.
Don't forget a plethora of side quests at your disposal to add to an already immersive story.
The wildlife you will encounter is straight out of Final Fantasy lore, some are just like rabid dogs, oversized scorpions or mutated buffalo, right up to the stuff of nightmares.
Lastly for now is the world itself, beautiful, vibrant and alive is probably the best picture to paint, I even encountered a couple splashing around on the beach. FFXV is definitely a beautiful world to behold and one you will find yourself lost in.
That's it for now, I am going to jump back in and play through some more. A full review will be coming your way shortly with some more video and screens if you still haven't made up your mind.
Don't forget to keep an eye out on our Facebook page and Youtube as we will be streaming over the next week, be sure to drop in and ask any questions.
Here is a look at some early stages of the game.
