Microsoft Unveils $10 Monthly Gaming Subscription Service For Xbox One
Today Microsoft has announced the Xbox Game Pass.
Coming this Autumn it will see subscribers have access to over 100 Xbox One and
backwards compatible titles for $10.95 per month.
Unlike Playstation Now, Microsoft has understood the multiple
issues internet users face around the globe and the Xbox Game Pass will be a
game download subscription, not relying on streaming, much like the EA Access
subscription.
Being included in the subscription service are titles from some of
the top publishers within the gaming industry. 2K, 505 Games, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, Capcom, Codemasters, Deep
Silver, Focus Home Interactive, SEGA, SNK CORPORATION, THQ Nordic GmbH, Warner
Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Microsoft Studios, are on board so a bit of
something for everyone there.
Each month new games will cycle into
the subscription with some cycling out, giving you a constantly updating
library of games. Play one in particular you cannot get enough of, it will be
available to purchase at an exclusive discount to Xbox Game Pass members.
Before the program rolls out to the
broader community later this spring, Microsoft will be testing Xbox Game Pass
with select members of the Xbox Insider Program in the Alpha Preview ring
starting today with a very limited number of titles. Xbox Live Gold members
will also be receiving exclusive access to Xbox Game Pass prior to the program
launching to the broader community. We’ll have more details on timing closer to
launch.
Not a bad idea in my book. Cannot
wait to get a look at some of the titles on offer. We have reached out for some
more info on availability locally and if any pricing has been set, we’ll update
you as information becomes available.
