Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 - Preview
Recently Royboy and myself had the opportunity of a hands on of about 3 hours of gameplay for Sniper ghost Warrior 3 from CI Games.
Set in Georgia in a time of unrest you play as elite sniper Jon North and you are tasked with neutralising the Separatist Leaders who are destabalising the country.
In a first for the Ghost Warrior series you are given an open world "sandbox" to play in, missions are marked on your map and it is your choice how you go about them.
We played in one of the three regions that will be available in the final release. A snow covered wonderland full of old world charms yet the war has definitely tainted the area.
Visually, even on this older build, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is stunning. even at distance the graphics are clear. Add in the dynamic weather and day night cycle and I found myself standing on a perch, just looking.
The open world really lends itself to the style of game you wish to play. You have your trusty sniper rifle, a assault rifle and a side arm. How you go about completing the mission is up to you. The day night and weather give you even more options to finish a mission.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is can be as technical as you want it to be, or turn down the difficulty to enjoy the story. Sniping that monster shot is strangely satisfying and while we could only see an early version, the bullet cam that follows for a headshot, wow, just wow.
Unfortunately SGW3 has been pushed back to April 25th, this was due to some feedback received via the beta which recently ran on PC and revolved around some changes to the games features and a return of some others.
Keep it locked here for any info we receive as it becomes available and be sure to listen to the podcast this weekend for an interview with Tom of CI Games, one of the lead designers For SGW3.
Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 is releasing April 25th on PS4, Xbox One & PC.
