Sony's Billion Hours Milestone
Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia is excited to announce a
milestone of more than one billion hours of entertainment consumed in Australia over the last twelve months on PlayStation.
The
milestone illustrates the scale of Australian’s love of entertainment,
with the volume of content consumed in the past twelve months.
PlayStation’s data revealed:
•
Fun-seeking Aussies have consumed more than one billion hours of play on PlayStation in the past 12 months
•
Hours of play across PlayStation gaming, music, TV and video rose 26 per cent year on year
•
Australia is a nation of entertainment
enthusiasts with 67 per cent playing video games and over 3.7 million
subscribing to a streaming service
The
one billion hours milestone, the equivalent of 100,000 years, was
achieved in a year that saw the launch of multiple blockers games
exclusive to PlayStation 4 including Horizon Zero Dawn,
Gran Turismo Sport and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
The
figure was announced at PlayFest 2017, a unique celebration of
PlayStation gaming, bringing players closer than ever to some of the
biggest unreleased titles coming to PlayStation 4 and
PlayStation VR.
