PAX Aus 2025: 10 Tips to get the most out of your weekend!
PAX is here for another weekend full of new games, tech and some awesome panels put on by some truly amazing members of our pop culture, tech and of gaming communities. If ever there was a chance to rub shoulders with your favourite streamers, cosplay surrounded by uplifting and supportive people or delve into new games and tech coming out from talented Aussies as well as some big names this is the weekend for you! To top it all off, we’ll be there too!
PAX Aus is 3 full on days and you need to be ready! So, I’ve dug into my past experiences on the show floor and come up with a bit of a Survival Guide to help you get the most out of you time of the show floor.
- Don’t forget your badge! – Sounds simple but be sure to have your badge on you before you get there. It’s the easiest way to start your day off right.
- Leave the cash at home. – PAX has become a cashless event so it isn’t accepted anywhere on site.
- Comfortable shoes are a must! – You will be walking, a lot, and there will be times when your feet are stepped on because there are so many people.
- Water – Drink plenty, bring extra. It can get warm in the convention centre so be sure to prepare well. Plenty of fluids available on site and even a Pub if you’re like me and need some time away from the crowds with a beverage.
- Download the PAX App and Highlight what you want to see. – PAX is 3 days long but even if you’re there all weekend you might run out of time. Check out the app, add in the panels you want to see and work out a game plan. You can find the app here -> PAX APP
- Setup meet points with your friends; you will get separated.
- Merch is going to go quick so if you’re keen on anything, get in there early! – Last year a mate waited hours only to get in and what he wanted was sold out.
- Get ready for the lines. – There will be a line for everything! From getting in the main doors, massive line, waiting for lunch, line, checking out Black Milk or the Disney Store yep line up to get in and out. Lining up has turned into a bit of a sport at PAX but they are always opportunities to meet new people, don’t be afraid to say hi to those around you.
- Get out of your comfort zone. – Your next amazing experience is just outside of what you normally would do. Check out that new game, tabletop hall is full of surprises, and the panels open up a world of possibilities, check em out, you might be surprised.
- Above all else, be respectful and have an amazing time. PAX is one of the most welcoming events that I am lucky to experience each year on the calendar and it is all down to the people.
There you have it, 10 quick tips to help you get the best out of the weekend. To finish off I have some links for you to check out that will help with your planning and a quick video from the PAX team to pump you up with what to expect with some highlights from last year!
