Sony's Billion Hours Milestone

Sony Interactive Entertainment Australia is excited to announce a milestone of more than one billion hours of entertainment consumed in Australia over the last twelve months on PlayStation.

The milestone illustrates the scale of Australian’s love of entertainment, with the volume of content consumed in the past twelve months. PlayStation’s data revealed:
Fun-seeking Aussies have consumed more than one billion hours of play on PlayStation in the past 12 months
Hours of play across PlayStation gaming, music, TV and video rose 26 per cent year on year
Australia is a nation of entertainment enthusiasts with 67 per cent playing video games and over 3.7 million subscribing to a streaming service

The one billion hours milestone, the equivalent of 100,000 years, was achieved in a year that saw the launch of multiple blockers games exclusive to PlayStation 4 including Horizon Zero Dawn, Gran Turismo Sport and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.

The figure was announced at PlayFest 2017, a unique celebration of PlayStation gaming, bringing players closer than ever to some of the biggest unreleased titles coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR.
